As human beings, we find resonance through stories. How many times have you read a story on the internet, been inspired, and changed the way you show up in the world as a result?
Books like Women Who Run With The Wolves and Awakening Shakti do this well. They're filled with stories of the sacred feminine that has been designed over the course of many hundreds of years to do exactly that: Change us.
Once we know these teachings, we cannot un-know them.
Another word for universal signs and symbols is "archetypes." They are the reason brands choose certain colors for their logos. Yellow makes us think of will power and strength (Helloooo McDonalds!). Or red — red is universally associated with earth, with survival, with “life blood”. (Coca-Cola anyone?)
You can also look at any religious or spiritual tradition, and they all have someone, or something that represents Mother. Kali is the great mother of tantra — and Mother Mary is the great mother of the Christian lineages."Mother," however we picture this, is a universal symbol of nourishment, of giving life, and of support.
The key is: Each one of us has a different relationship with yellow, red, Mother, earth — all the archetypes — because of our lived experience. If you’re close with your physical mother, that’s one path. You may be estranged from your mother — or estranged from the feminine parts of yourself. For this reason, "mother energy" could have a negative connotation in your life.
Therefore, when we bring archetypal wisdom into our daily practice of meditation, journaling, reading or otherwise, we give our mind a chance to relate in its own way. Once we get past our subconscious programming or "vasanas," we can listen closely for the voice of our inner, higher self. We can heal our relationship to that aspect within ourselves, and start fresh.
Ultimately, when we feel at peace through an interaction with our higher self, THAT is archetypal wisdom. If we feel confused, or afraid, or shameful in any way, that’s not wisdom, but rather it’s our ego blocking the way to our true self.
To me, this 50-hour Shakti Kriya Training is not an outward “worship” of the 10 Wisdom Goddesses of Tantra. Rather it's about inward contemplation and soul-journey THROUGH them. As we study each of the goddess' symbols and stories through this course, you will be lovingly guided to find the wisdom in your heart. Receiving messages from the goddess is simply tapping into heart-knowings that already existing within you.
... and we'll do this together.
Life is just SWEETER with archetypes, signs and symbols — and when it comes to one of the most profound teachings of the tantric tradition, the Dasha Maha Vidyas take the cake. The 10 wisdom goddesses provide a framework to access the sweet nectar of life.
I would be honored for you to join us. In light, Mollie
