Who is this training for?

For those who feel the call to teach kriya yoga, this training offers the opportunity to dive deep into energetic anatomy and the ancient lineage of yoga and meditation from the Himalayas. Kriyas awaken the mind, body, and spirit, preparing practitioners to meet every part of life with clarity and strength.

Each kriya functions like a yoga recipe—combining breathwork, mudras, bandhas, hatha yoga asana, movement, and mantra in precise ways to create a powerful and intentional result. These practices channel energy, build stamina, and expand capacity to live and move fully, both on the mat and beyond.

Designed for yoga teachers with an existing 200-hour certification, this program provides in-depth tantric teachings on the chakras, pranayama, koshas, mudras, mantra, gunas, and more—equipping teachers with the confidence and grounding to skillfully lead students through these transformative practices.

My journey to Kriya Yoga...

PictureWith my fellow trainees in India!
Sometimes I wish I had a more “magical” answer when asked how I found kriya—an inner knowing from childhood, a long family lineage, or a dream revealing my destiny.

But kriya, like all the best things in my life, found me.

Years ago, I was at one of my yoga studios when a friend mentioned she was going to India for advanced training. I can’t remember if she invited me or I invited myself, but I surprised myself by admitting: I wanted to go.

Despite being a studio owner, teacher, and devoted practitioner of (what I thought was) yoga, India hadn’t been on my radar. She had already chosen a school near Rishikesh, and after skimming the website, I noticed they’d be teaching mantra—something I’d never studied formally. The word “kriya” appeared, but I didn’t know what it meant. With Sean’s encouragement, I signed up.

That was that!

No prophetic dreams, no astral guru encounters, nothing earth-shattering on the 48-hour journey to get there. Just me, jet-lagged, unpacking for a month of study.

By the opening ceremony—learning the Tara mantra, floating flowers down the river—I felt a shift. And the next morning, sitting on my mat for our daily two-hour “yoga journey,” I experienced the last moment of my life “before kriya.”

After that, there was only “after kriya.”

PictureAdvanced training graduation with my teacher, Anand during my first of three trips to study with him in India.
By breakfast, something deep within me had changed. I didn’t know what, but I knew I’d never be the same. Since then, I’ve studied with my teacher, Anand, in India and abroad, and fallen in love with the teachings—where kriya techniques aren't practiced in isolation, but woven with asana, flow, mantra, music, dance, breathwork, philosophy, shaking, meditation—whatever the day calls for.

Yet, after years of devoted practice, my path began to feel rigid. I craved a feminine perspective, which led me into Jyotish, the Bhagavad Gita, the Dasha Maha Vidyas, Pancha Maha Bhutas, and beyond—studying with women around the world.

My spiritual path of Kriya Yoga hasn’t changed since that first Yoga Journey, but my approach has evolved—as it should. Today, the way I teach — which I call "The Yoga We Need" — is unlike anyone else’s, because that’s the point: the more we know ourselves, the more unique our teaching becomes.

Although another Himalayan pilgrimage isn’t on the horizon, I now live in what many call the “Himalayas of the Arctic” in Alaska’s Brooks Range — the highest mountain range above the arctic circle in the world. Every day I feel grateful to carry this lineage and share it from such an extraordinary place.

What should you expect?

  • About 10 hours of pre-requisite videos and homework to be completed on Ruzuku during the 30 days prior to our live weekend.
  • Initiation into the Himalayan Kriya Yoga Meditation Technique
  • The support and the nudge to finally create a lasting, daily meditation practice that —if practiced diligently — will change the way you approach your life, for the better.
  • A custom personal mantra for your meditation, given just like our lineage has done for thousands of years. The mantra is channeled to match your unique vibration and serves to deepen your connection to your meditation practice.
  • Initiation to teach 10 pranayamas and 20 Kriyas, so that you can teach them to your students.
  • A gorgeous printed manual shipped to you, to guide our journey through this program (and a PDF version to download so you can start learning right away!)
  • Support from me with the pranayamas and kriyas as you practice and experience them for yourself, through your own studies so that you feel adequately experienced and prepared to teach them to your students.
  • Lectures that break down Vedantic Philosophy and the Tantric Energetic Body into bite-size pieces that make sense of the components of kriya yoga.
  • A tight-knit community of spiritual seekers and dreamers in this course, along with a supportive network of Yoga Hive YTT alumni who will be so honored to welcome you to our tradition!
  • Yogis are eligible to get 30 CEUs with Yoga Alliance for completing this course.

Here's what graduates have to say...

"Simultaneously, I felt exhilarated and exhausted. I instantly wanted more!
Practicing Kriya has shown me a path to tap directly into what I need in that moment in a
way that practicing asana doesn’t do nearly as quickly or effectively. After receiving the training, it’s hard to feel completely fulfilled in a yoga practice without Kriya in it."
— Wendy, 2020

"Afterward I always feel like I’m on a mountain top, filled with a zest for life. If you’ve never done Himalayan Kriya, you are not alone — but it is something you have to experience. It’s like breaking the chains of who you think you should be and the person you are meant to be."
— Teagan, 2020
